Mousuni Island is a beach destination, as we all know. But it is different from all other sea-beaches. It is a virgin island. So if you are looking for some peace and tranquility at a beach destination, then you should close your eyes and trust Mousuni Island. Major accommodation facility in Mousuni Island is in the forms of camping. This aspect itself is very attractive and unique. Spending one or two nights in a camp on a beach is not available everywhere. Yes, we agree that there are no 5-star facilities but we think that is why we can enjoy the place as it is. The expansive sea with small waves, their sounds, the blue sky overhead, sitting beneath the milky twilight, all these pleasures might seem simple and you won’t find them in their natural state and keep gazing in the horizon in other beach destination like Bakkkhali. Though the weekends can get crowded but otherwise Mousuni is a remote place; where there is you and your ‘tanhayi.’ Take a walk in the fishermen’s villages or stroll on the sea-beach on a starry night; Mousuni Island will not disappoint you. Look beyond the usual beach destinations like Bakkhali and visit Mousunui Island that is a gem of a place.
Bakkhali is a small beach and also beautiful but it has been marked by so many human feet that it cannot be called a virgin island at all. Also, people want to visit new places. In that sense, Bakkhali is known for years now. Unlike Mousuni Island, Bakkhali has normal hotels. The feeling of staying in a tent or camp compared to staying in a concrete hotel is vastly different. Wherever we go we stay in a hotel only, unless if we are going for a true camping. But Mousuni Island that is close to Kolkata gives the flavour of camping and that also on a beach. Nature has been tampered with in Bakkhali and you will not get the raw feel of nature or the excitement of staying in a camp or tent. Since Bakkhali has been on the tourist map for many years now, it is very populated. You won’t find a quiet and serene place for yourself or a nook and corner that are empty. It has become very crowded. So if you want to relax and dip in the waters for some time alone or just with your gang, you won’t get that privacy; the one you will get in Mousuni Island.
